Our NorthStar Kids are those ages newborn to 5th grade. We love our kids and have many activities planned for them each week.We believe that God has given parents the greatest charge of all: to personally disciple their children to be Godly boys and girls. Our goal is to come along side our parents, encouraging and supporting them in that role.
Parents are asked to sign-up at the Check-in stand to receive our newsletter to keep you informed on the upcoming events for your child.
Emily Mays serves as our Children's Director. A graduate of Wytheville Community College, Emily is dedicated to teaching and shaping our NorthStar kids of all ages. Emily oversees our Children's Team, Sunday School classes, and all of our NorthStar Kid events. When she isn't at church, Emily is an accomplished businesswoman and talented baker. The nursery will be home to your newborn - 2 year old child. They will be watched over and cared for by Ms. Darlene and her wonderful group of workers. Some of their favorite activities are singing, reading, and learning about Jesus.
Our preschool age group is the perfect spot for your 3-5 year old. Here, our team will teach them a Biblical lesson on their level, feed them a snack, play games, and watch over them until your return.
During Bible Fellowship hour, our younger kids are split into two groups: K-2nd grade and 3rd-5th Grade, where they are taught age-appropriate Biblical lessons. Before the Worship service, your child's teacher will personally escort them to Children's Church where they will experience their own worship service and lesson on their level.
YOUR CHILD'S SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY
We know how difficult it is to place your child in the care of someone else. It is a responsibility we do not take lightly and the reason why we take careful measures to ensure the safety and well-being of your child.
First, all volunteers must undergo necessary background checks and screenings before they may be admitted to work with our kids. Second, we have in place a security system that we require all parents and guardians to abide by. Upon arrival to our kids station, you will be greeted by a member of our security team. You will be required to sign your child in and given a star with a number that corresponds to the number assigned to your child. Please bring your star with you at the end of the service to pick up your child and sign him out. For safety reasons, we ask that the same parent or guardian pick up the child as who dropped them off, not an older sibling or friend. For more information, please read our complete safety and security policy.
Thank you for your cooperation!
WELCOME! WE'RE SO GLAD TO HAVE YOU!
Upon your arrival at church, one of our greeter's will escort you and your children to our check-in station. There, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire that familiarizes us with any allergies or special needs your child may have. You will also be asked to sign your child in and issued one of our star security badges. Please familiarize yourself with our Security and Well-Child policies listed below. Here are some helpful tips before you arrive:
Label all of your child's belongings.
Please bring diapers and wipes as needed for your child.
If your baby requires a bottle, please prepare it in advance.
We discourage kids from bringing in their own toys from home to ensure that no treasured item is lost or misplaced.
