O U R   M I S S I O N

​We are a 21st century church being guided by the principles of the 1st century church.

We believe that we are to:

​

1. Confess Christ as Lord through dynamic worship.

"Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise - the fruit of lips that openly profess HIS name." Hebrews 13:15

​

2. Change the culture by reaching the reachable and teaching the teachable.

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the sale loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden." Matthew 5:13-14

3. Clarify our individual calling.

[May He] equip you with everything good for doing HIS will, and may HE work in us what is pleasing to HIM, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." Hebrews 13:21

O U R    C A L L I N G

 

Our name is taken from the North Star. the Bible teaches that "the heaves tell of the glory of God." (Psalm 19:1) The NorthStar has for centuries pointed navigators in the right direction. Our calling is to point people in the right direction for their lives - that direction is Jesus Christ.  How do we do this?

1. Educationally - The Truthful Life.

"Do you best to represent yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:!5 

​

2. Externally - The Body Life

"Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another - and all the more as you see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25

​

3. Eternally - The Worshipping Life 

"Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made." Isaiah 43:7

​

4. Evangelistically - The New Life

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old is gone; the new is here!" 2 Corinthians 5:17

​

5. Emotionally - The Transformed Life

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:1-2

We have been designated by the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention as an Acts 1:8 church.

​

We also stand boldly for life. We are participants in the "Cross Project" and the Bristol TN/VA Right to Life chapter.
